
About the “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” Radiothon
FedEx Custom Critical and Dave Walter Auto Group together have presented the 2009 “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” Radiothon with 98.1 WKDD. Last year (2008) the “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” Radiothon with 98.1 WKDD raised an amazing $1,000,726. Radiothon Change Bandits - volunteers who collect spare change in the weeks before the event, brought in $360,000 alone. All funds raised during Radiothon are used to purchase equipment, fund research and provide patient care programs for Children’s.
About Akron Children’s Hospital
Akron Children's Hospital cares for about 500,000 patients each year and performs more pediatric surgeries than any other hospital in northeast Ohio. Children's operates a 253-bed pediatric hospital in downtown Akron, as well as provides pediatric care at more than 40 locations throughout the region. In addition, Children's provides more than 100 advocacy, education, outreach and research programs for children and their families. Akron Children's Hospital has earned The Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission and Magnet Recognition Status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
One hundred percent of the money raised throughout the fundraiser goes directly to Akron Children’s Hospital for the purchase of “kid-sized” equipment, medical supplies and the funding of research on childhood diseases.
